Various - Kill Bill 2 OST
*Apart from his dialogues, Tarantino has a unique way of going about with
his music. When a track is issued into a scene its "importance" is on the
same level as everything else. While the scene doesnt quite turn into a
videoclip, its not just being accompanied by the music either. So when I
start dancing (as much as you can actually dance in a movie theatre seat) to
"Malaguena Salerosa" (performed by Chingon) sure people are going to think
im crazy but my next "must buy" purchase will be the Kill Bill vol.2 ost.
This soundtrack is more latin orientated as opposed to the previous which
was more asian. That should be a good thing in my books if i were comparing
the two but i will still have to agree with most people that the soundtrack
to the first volume of Kill Bill is tons greater. Still though, there are
some four leaf clovers like "Goodbye Moon" (performed by Shivaree) and "Tú
Mira" (performed by Lole y Manuel). If i had to pick one song though and
delete all the rest it would be "About Her" (performed by Malcom McLaren) ;
the scene where Uma leaves her daughter to sleep, the lights are dimmed and
the base to "About Her" takes over the room.
Even if you dont feel like listening to anything on the album you always
have the movie excerpts (which would be nothing special if it werent for
David Carradine super-sexy voice that can put you to sleep while telling
"The legend of Pai Mei").
